How Reverse Osmosis Works
RO systems push water through a semi-permeable membrane at pressure. The membrane's microscopic pores (0.0001 microns) allow only pure water molecules through, blocking dissolved salts, heavy metals, organic compounds, bacteria, and viruses. The contaminants are flushed away, not trapped inside.
What RO Removes
Reverse osmosis removes chlorine, chloramines, fluoride, lead, arsenic, nitrates, nitrites, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, PFAS (forever chemicals), sodium, and most other dissolved solids. Our systems achieve TDS (total dissolved solids) reduction of 90-99%.
Under-Sink Installation
Most RO systems install neatly under the kitchen sink with a dedicated dispensing tap on the counter. A small pressurized storage tank holds purified water ready on demand. Installation typically takes 2-3 hours and doesn't require any major plumbing work.
Filter Maintenance
RO systems use multiple filter stages: sediment pre-filter (replace every 6 months), carbon pre-filter (every 6-12 months), the RO membrane (every 2-3 years), and a post-carbon polishing filter (every 12 months). We offer a convenient maintenance plan.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does RO remove beneficial minerals too?
Yes, RO removes most dissolved minerals including beneficial ones like calcium and magnesium. However, these minerals are more efficiently absorbed from food than water. If desired, we can add a remineralization stage that adds back calcium and magnesium at optimal levels while keeping the water pure.
How much water does RO waste?
Traditional RO systems waste 3-4 gallons of water for every 1 gallon of purified water produced. Our newer high-efficiency systems significantly improve this ratio. For a typical household drinking 2-3 gallons per day, the waste is minimal compared to the benefit.
Can I connect my RO to my refrigerator?
Yes — we can run a dedicated line from your RO system to your refrigerator's water dispenser and ice maker. This means your ice cubes will also be made from purified water. We install these connections routinely.
What's the water pressure like from an RO tap?
RO systems use a storage tank, so you'll get a steady flow from your dedicated faucet. It won't match your main tap pressure, but it's more than adequate for filling glasses, bottles, cooking pots, and kettles.
